July 23: All the people I work with have been supportive, (bringing coffee, picking up lunches, etc) but the people in my department! wow! delivering documents, picking up stuff for me, over-working for me when I have had to be away from the office. It has been beyong amazing! I am part of an amazing team! Thanks, you guys! Below is an e-mail from my co-worker, Pam:
You mean to T E L L me. No knife, no cutting, no stitch'in! ...No Surgery...! See what happens when you do the RIGHT things.... pray, believe, confess, live right, rest right . . . . Happy for you!
<--- In case you missed the other graphic (my walking companion):
July 22: Well! Here I am -- walking and leaping (in my heart) and praising God!
So there I was, looking at the x-ray with the doctor and he turned to me and said, "well! you can do weight bearing! you have bone replacement! No more cast or brace!"
Joy! Joy! Joy! Then I thought of this song from long ago:
Rise Up and Walk
[E] Peter and John went to [B] Pray,
They met a lame man on the [E] way,
He held [E] hand, and asked for an [A] alm,
But [B] this is what they had to [E] say.
[E] Silver and gold have I [B] none
But such as I have give I [E] thee
In the [E] name of Jesus [A] Christ
Of [B] Nazareth, rise up and [E] walk
He went [E] walking and leaping and [B] praising God
Walking and leaping and [E] praising God
In the name of Jesus [A] Christ
Of [B] Nazareth, rise up and [E] walk
He went [E] walking and leaping and [B] praising God
Walking and leaping and [E] praising God
In the name of Jesus [A] Christ
Of [B] Nazareth, rise up and [E] walk
Tell me that doesn't bring back memories.
July 20:
"Ode to My Right Knee" ...
Oh how I love thee!
Let me count the ways ..
You are faithful in the face of striving.
Bearing the weight and the burden of one who can't
Uncomplaining when called on to carry even more
Standing straight! when the one beside you can't!
Setting the example of what the other should do.
Dependable ... even though you have been taken for granted for years
In spite of everything you have endured these last 6 weeks you have only become stronger!
You are amazing, My Beloved Right Knee
And I sing your praises.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made
And My Arms, My shoulders, My Feel and my Left Knee
are amazingly grateful for your faithful service!
Thank you forever!
Say hi to my new walking companion (a gift from a co-worker -- thanks, Pam)
Here's another great video:
July 19: Gotta get some comments on this one (6 min 35 sec): Just fill in the form below .. it will come right to me. Better than e-mail!
July 18: According to the news this is the week of the 40th anniversary of the walk on the moon. I remember looking at the moon from Columbus with the men on it, while Jerry was looking at the moon with the men on it from Ethiopia.
I am finishing up my third week of PT for my knee. It is definitely making progress as far as flexibility is concerned. Wednesday I find out if there is any new bone growing. That will possibly determine whether or not I have to have surgery on it.
I got an "A" in my WordPress class. I created and design-modified two sites, one on WordPress site and one on mine.

July 3: Aunt Hazel wrote In Lilac Time, June 25, 1993.
Lyrics:
When I get older losing my hair
many years from now
will you still be sending me a valentine
birthday greeting, bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
would you lock the door
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you
I could be handy mending a fuse
when your light have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings, go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
Every summer we can rent a cottage on the
Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck, and Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
stating point of view
indicate precisely what you mean to say
yours sincerely wasting away
Give me your answer fill in a form
mine forever more
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
Jess (Shower photos): Everything is still on the June page.
In fact, for those of you who haven't checked in recently, everything that was here (that you missed) has moved to the June page. :-)

July 2: Here is an e-mail I received from Don Bartlette. Thought you all might enjoy an update
During my trip to my hometown, walhalla, north dakota, this past weekend,i ran into the pastor of the lutheran church.he had arranged For me to preach last summer at an interdenominational service in the City park during the 4 of july weekend, which was a rather historic Occasion for this old injun, for many reasons going back to my child- Hood experiences.
Anyhow, he told me about a crisis in his church.one of the members, Whom I remember well from living there,is a rather rich guy and he Wanted a new piano for the church.without any conversation with the Church council or pastor, he went to mpls and bought a $35,000 black Grand piano,of which he paid $15,000 out of his own pocket. But,then He died two weeks later !!!! this left a balance for the church to Pay.
Hell erupted ! several families left the church over this situation And others are mad at the pastor !
When I visited the church this past sunday, the pastor welcomed me As I walked into the service, making it quite obvious that I was in The sanctuary. After the service, he asked me to play this new Piano.i did so. Since chopsticks is the only song I know how to Play, this became a riot for this little, old pastor. He and I have Become friends since last summer.
I also asked him if he knew that the catholic priest, a member of the Interdenominational council for the city, had informed his congregation Last summer that they were not allowed to come hear me speak.he was Aghast=====he had no idea that had happened. I also told him I had Stopped by the catholic church that morning and spent half an hour, Listening to the priest, since my two sisters had invited me to their Church. It was really an odd feeling to be back in the church and Remembering the priest,in my high school days, molesting us altar Boys. This new priest, however, was flaky. He spent many years with Carmelite nuns, where silence is mandatory,in the monastery. He spoke Very quietly, mumbling, never looking at the congregation. I believe He may be a perpetrator, from his actions, his style of walk, his Mannerisms.he conducted the memorial service the next day for my Mother's cousin; he literally sneezed twice during the gospel reading And he referred to the deceased as...."our brother"...altho lucille Was a woman ! he then came to lunch at the church fellowship hall and Never spoke a word to any of us----------------spooky man.
I laid a memorial marker in the catholic cemetery in honor of my aunt Blanche, who died in 1956 after she hung herself At the state mental institution. She had been placed there as a child Who had epilepsy and behavioral problems.i had met her once on a trip There and that is what motivated me to become a social worker.there Is a story that perhaps one of the nurses at the institution had done The hanging since she left the next day and never returned to work. My grandparents were poor so there was no way to get legal help then.
I had a phenomenal reunion with my sisters and their families. They Treated me like royalty and I even stayed overnight at one of their Homes .there has been some wonderful healing ever since last summer When I went home to preach in the city park and they began realizing What my ministry was about.julie had gone with me and we made a real Effort to become a part of my native family.
I went to visit my brother in prison. I am the only family member to Do so since his incarceration and that has an impact of my family.they See me being compassionate to our brother and, since they cannot handle The emotions connected to his being there, they rely on me to do so. My other brother remains quite angry at me and wants nothing to do with me but the rest of my siblings see him as being hateful and Not wanting reconciliation. So, god has been good in turning all of My siblings back to me except one. I feel like joseph in the bible. They are now seeking me out for help, fellowship, and leadership in Our native family.
Have a great day. I feel exuberant about my journeys back home during The past 2 years. God is healing a lot of hurt between my siblings and Me.
Although several of my siblings are still totally dysfunctional and Involved in drugs, I see some hope.
